Sick of grammar exercises and verb conjugations? Lynne’s private English classes are the perfect opportunity to practice with a native speaker in a fun environment. During each class we’ll bake a traditional American recipe. While improving your English, you’ll learn about American and British culture, traditions and expressions. The classes are great for kids but also adults. Recommended for ages eight to eighty! A basic level of English is required.
Recipes and courses will follow Anglo-American seasons and customs. For example, in November you could make pumpkin pie while learning about Thanksgiving and all of the traditions and vocabulary that come along with it. June could see Eton Mess and perhaps peppermint brownies in December.
The classes take place in Lynne’s kitchen (pictured below), close to La Muette metro station in the 16th arrondissement, or Lynne can also come to your kitchen. Lynne is originally American but lived in London for many years. She studied patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu and worked for Pierre Hermé and Peggy Porschen. She started Sweet Tooth Tours in 2017 to offer tours and courses for tourists but many French people asked for help with English for them and their kids so the English classes were born! Visit the "about" section for more information.
Courses start from 35 euros per hour for one person. Each additional student is 10 euros per hour, with a maximum of 6 students. The recipe chosen will be adjusted to your class length— it’s recommended to start with a 1h30 or 2h class. Cooking equipment is included but each session will have an additional charge of 10 euros for ingredients. Discounts are offered when booking multiple lessons. Of course you can take your baking home with you!
